What an adventure we have had today as we have set off on our travels and visited lots of different countries from around the world. We were all given our very own Lumen Summer Camp Passport and collected travel stamps for the different places we visited throughout the day. 

Our first stop was Spain, where we learnt a Spanish song which we later performed to the other campers. After Spain, we travelled to Western Africa and the country Guinea to beat our drums to the summer camp rhythm. Next, we travelled to deepest, darkest Peru to create some molas, Peruvian paper art followed by Fiji for some beautiful, flowery leis. Next stop was China for some paper fans which were particularly handy in the hot weather of today. 

In our swimming session we had a giant water fight, just like in Thailand for Songkran and in our sports session we played Alaskan Baseball, a fun variation on America's favourite pastime. 

It has been a wonderful first week at Summer Camp 2022 and we are so excited for what is in store over the next two weeks. Monday's theme is Superheroes so hopefully everyone is ready to assemble!
